Service Learning 100% of Our Students Participate in Service Learning

Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible. St. Francis of Assisi

What is Service Learning?

Service-Learning is a type of experiential education that combines academic goals with activities that address human and community needs.

Why do Service-Learning?

  • To enhance student learning, whether in or outside the classroom
  • To serve and to collaborate with non-profit agencies in the Tri-State Area
  • To foster a sense of civic responsibility and commitment to the common good

What is the difference between service-learning and community service?

Community service participants volunteer for the primary or sole purpose of meeting the needs of others and bettering the community as a whole. Service-learning meets the needs of the community while enhancing students’ academic achievements.
